Salvador Dali - Las Esculturas 1969 - 1976.
This Collection was modeled in wax at the artist's home in Port Lligat, Spain from 1969 to 1976 and acquired by his friend Isidro Clot.

"Madonna of Port Lligat" 1969.
The 'Madonna of Port Lligat' is, along with 'The Christ of Saint John of the Cross', the most popular of all Dali's religious works.
The opening in the bronze worked in the Virgin's breast leads one to imagine the infant Jesus suspended in the air, just as He is portrayed in the picture.
With the exception of certain images inspired by Raphael, the heads and faces of Dali's madonnas always represent Gala. The 'Madonna of Port Lligat' is no exception.

Salvador Dali - Las Esculturas 1969 - 1976.
